I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Sputnik Music - Harmonica George Robinson

George W. Robinson was born in Aberdeen, MS. on June 12, 1934. He learned how to play harmonica from his older brother Jesse, who was a local musician. Robinson moved to Chicago in 1952, and it was there that he sat-in with other musicians such as Elmore James & Howlin' Wolf until he formed his own group. In 1959 he cut two titles for Atomic-H with a band led by Eddy Clearwater but the label didn't release them. He worked as a cab driver and finally got to cut another single a decade later for Toddlin' Town that was released. He also cut a full-length LP for the Twinight label in July of that year, but no record seems to exist of it ever being issued. Nothing else seems to be known about him.
