Komunalec Blues - Crossroad Blues Band
In the beginning of 2000, the group records its first single Kade e krajot? (Wheres the end?)- Remake of Buddy Guy or Tom Hyatt's music (not precisely fortified) according Sales text. Dragan B. Kostic (the most famous radio disk jockey in the national radio) noticed this single, which with his comments and available space in the air in a great deal helped the group to gain its broader popularity. Thanks to him, CrossRoad Blues Band manages to get terms in the studios of the Macedonian Television to record its first album named as Tutun Bluz (Tobacco Blues). The motives treated in the CrossRoad Blues Band's songs are from the social sphere and the problems of the ordinary man, which are a common theme in the blues. Curiosity presents the Macedonian text in the songs. Immediately after the recording of the album, CrossRoad Blues Band got offer to participate to the prestigious Blues&Soul Festival in Skopje, directly from the Macedonian guru of blues Vasja Ivanovski. There CrossRoad Blues Band had their first performance side by side with blues masters from all around the world. The cooperation with Vasja Ivanovski continues to the present days. A number of concerts in the Macedonian towns and clubs follow. One of the most significant is the performance on the BLUES & SOUL festival in Skopje in 2001, where they received recognition from the world’s blues scene. The first international performance of the group was on the ROCK & BLUES concert in Sofia Bulgaria, where they “meted out” the forces of the most renowned Bulgarian musicians. From Sofia the group two years in succession played on the International Music Festival in Gabrovo Bulgaria, where it represented Macedonia and was its unique representative. Important are and the performances on the Macedonian Blues Summit in a company with the most famous Macedonian blues lovers, which every year takes place in Skopje.
