Marco Goldsmith Band

Marco is a singer, guitarist, harmonica player and song writer. As well as working as an acoustic artist, Marco is most known for his 7 piece band 'Marco Goldsmith's Blue Heat'. Blue Heat released two original albums to critical acclaim in the mid 90's; 'Marooned' and 'Irresistible Behaviour'. 1995 Marco won Best Male Artist and their first album 'Marooned' won the Australian Blues Album of the Year. In 1996, their second album 'Irresistible Behaviour' also won the 'Australian Blues Band of the Year’. Opening for BB KING (Melbourne Entertainment Centre '97) being a fitting final gig for a driven band that toured Australia extensively. These days, 'Blue Heat' re-groups for a handful of select gigs each year. From there Marco fell into a roots, blues, celtic, country, acoustic, singer-songwriter swamp, having also toured and released two acoustic solo albums 'Hold On' and 'Stomping Ground' during that period. MGB by design is like a blues time machine. Marco has wanted to make a blues album that taps into the styles and influences of what he was playing during the late '70s to the early 90's, reminiscent of great acts like The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Clapton, Duke Robillard, Albert King, SRV and others. Most of the original tunes on this album were written during that period. Marco's current outfit 'MARCO GOLDSMITH BAND' is a three piece electric blues animal and MGB's self-titled first album is guaranteed to saviour the appetite of any true raw blue's lover. Please enjoy the simple honesty of this live blues album. Oh! ...and don't forget, TURN IT UPTO 11' Marco Goldsmith Band (MGB) winner, "Best Debut Album Of The Year" Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society Victorian/Tasmanian Blues Music Awards 2012 — with Kare Berg and Marco Goldsmith. “To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson If you support live Blues acts, up and coming Blues talents and want to learn more about Blues news and Fathers of the Blues, Like ---Bman’s Blues Report--- Facebook Page!
