Blanche Thomas, vocalist blues singer. Born in Orleans Parish, New Orleans, October 15, 1922 or 1924. Began her singing career at the old Tick Tock Club. Popular singer in many Bourbon Street clubs, sang with Louis Armstrong (q.v.), Al Hirt, Pete Fountain and "Papa" French. Performed at jazz festivals in several cities, at Carnegie Hall, in the Hollywood Bowl, at the grand opening of the Kennedy Center in Washington, D. C., and the Houston Astrodome. Toured Vietnam with Louis Cottrell.
