A big week looms for Southern California-based blues-rock guitar ace, Alastair Greene.
First, Alastair performs at the Seymour Duncan Booth (#5561, Hall B) at
the 2013 NAMM Conference, Anaheim Convention Center, on Friday, January
25, from 3:00-3:25 p.m. "With
my Seymour Duncan pickups I have higher output with more punch and
cut," explains Greene. "For the humbuckers in my Les Paul everything
seems smoother and fuller. I've never been good at describing tone. I'm
more of a thumbs-up or thumbs-down kind of guy, and all my experiences
with Seymour's pickups have been 2 big thumbs up." Check out

Then its off to the Orpheum Theater in Memphis, Tennessee, where Greene competes in the International Blues Challenge (IBC) Finals, representing the Santa Barbara Blues Society. The competition takes place beginning Tuesday, January 29 and culminates with the winner being named on Saturday evening, February 2.
Guitarist, singer, and songwriter Alastair Greene has been a mainstay
of the Southern California music scene for over two decades. Currently
the lead guitarist for the Alan Parsons Live Project, Alastair is best
known for his blues-based, soulful, and melodic guitar playing as well as one of a rare breed to play slide guitar. Alastair
can be heard on CDs by Alan Parsons; Aynsley Dunbar, Glen Phillips
(Toad the West Sprocket), and contemporary blues artists Mitch Kashmar, Franck Golwasser, and many others.
The Alastair Greene Band - formed in 1997, and with five albums released - has
opened shows for The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Robin Trower, John Mayall,
Tommy Castro, the late Michael Burks, Jonny Lang, Mike Campbell's
Dirty Knobs, and many more. Alastair accepted the offer to join the
Alan Parsons Live Project in 2012 and continues to perform over 150
dates a year with his own band.
