Born Blind - Blue Ray & The Players

Born in 1966, Chris “Blue Ray” Noll was into Blues and Rockabilly music from his early teen years, when he first got in touch with the great Elvis Presley (Sun Records) and later with the deep Muddy Waters' blues music. His musical career started at the age of 19, when he first jammed with the great Chicago Blues man Eddie C. Campbell, where he became infatuated by the Chicago harmonica sound, playing harmonica 24 hours a day. In his early years, he was very much focused on becoming a brilliant blues harmonica player. In 1992, Chris joined a regionally renowned blues band named Dirty Roughness, playing traditional Chicago stile blues. After some years as a bluesharp sidekick, he became more and more a frontman, singing blues classics in his own stile. Since then, the Blue Ray has become a key to having a mighty good time with Westcoast and retro Blues at clubs and festivals throughout the country. Blue Ray’s key influences are traditional artists like Big Walter Horton, Sonny Boy Williamson, as well as modern bluesharp players and singers like Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds), R.J. Mischo, Gary Primich, and Billy Branch.
