Dayna Kurtz has announced that she'll be performing a record release party on June 4, the release date of Secret Canon Vol. 2. The show will be at The Living Room in N.Y.C. James Reed/Boston Globe Dayna Kurtz's Secret Canon, Vol. II will be released on June 4 and is a collection of uncovered blues and R&B gems from the 1940's-1960's. Dayna has been researching music for this project for months to come up with just the right material. In addition, Secret Canon, Vol. II will also contain a few of Dayna's smoky and seductive originals. The sessions for the recording took place in New York as well as Danya's new home in New Orleans. Over the past decade, the Brooklyn-based vocalist/writer/musician/producer has been bestowed with many awards and praises. Dayna Kurtz was named Female Songwriter of the Year by the National Academy of Songwriters.  Norah Jones and Bonnie Raitt have raved about her in interviews, and she's performed on such high-profile radio shows as World Cafe, Mountain Stage and NPR's Morning Edition.  She's toured with and/or opened for the likes of Elvis Costello, Richard Thompson, Rufus Wainwright, B.B. King, Dr. John, Richie Havens, Keren Ann, Joe Henry, Olu Dara, Chris Whitley, Richard Buckner, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and the Blind Boys of Alabama.
