MICKEY ROGERS WITH HIS SOUL BLUES BAND
His mentor and guitar teacher was Hubert Sumlin. Mickey's first trip out of the country was with Howlin’ Wolf and Hubert Sumlin to the UK in 1964 where Mickey met the Rolling Stones. Mickey performed on stage with the Rolling Stones.
Mickey is honored with a stone on the Musician Walk of Fame in Greenville, MS Mickey is honored with a Sonny Boy Nelson Award from the MACE organization which produces the oldest festival in Mississippi “The Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival.”
Mickey played in the Tyrone Davis band for 16 years and with Bobby Rush for many years. Back in the day he toured internationally with the Temptations. He was Willie Foster’s band leader and traveled internationally many times with Foster. He is on numerous CD’s produced by Blues Legends from the early years.
Mickey Rogers performs at festivals, clubs and private parties and social events. He performs with his band The Soul Blues Band.
