Blake Saban 3

“A major act, soon to be sought after nationally and internationally ...” – MASON RACK A smack in the mouth by a bear holding a wet salmon with gravel rash, BS3 are one of the hardest working two-piece roots rock bands in OZ. With a wall of psychedelic, roots, surf rock guitar riffs driven by percussive grooves, these lads are sure to get your heart thumpin’! “…can you believe there’s only two guys out there?!” - COLIN BUCHANAN Blake Saban 3 has just finished recording their third studio album at Damien Gerard Studios Balmain. Working again with industry veteran engineer/producer Russel Pilling (The Church, Hoodoo Gurus, The Vines) Blake and Glendon have established their identity, found their voice, with this new record, ‘Rise Above’. This is a musician’s album and the musicians are technicians, craftsman with their instruments. The first single ‘The Game’ from the album is soon to be released digitally with a launch being held at the Hideaway in the Fortitutde Valley, Brisbane on the 28th of September 2013. The album ‘Rise Above’ will be released at the 2014 Tamworth Country Music Festival and toured nationally in the months following. No strangers to the road and with over 400 shows under their belt 2012/13 saw them hit the road on a six month long national tour, promoting their first record City of Light. After clocking up over 30,000km’s and covering six states the boys were invited to play the 2013 Bluesfest busking stage in Byron Bay, wowing the well seasoned audience with their energy packed show. During the City of Light Tour the band also played iconic venues and festivals such as King St Brewhouse (Sydney), The Espy (St Kilda), Cherry Bar (Melbourne), Republic Bar (Hobart), X&Y Bar (Brisbane), The Rails (Byron Bay), Adelaide Fringe, Cairns Blues Festival and Sydney Blues ‘n’ Roots Festival. The bands 2012 release, City of Light, debuted at #18 on the Australian Blues & Roots Airplay Charts and pays homage to their home town of Tamworth, in Northern NSW. The independently funded act released the record at the 2012 Tamworth Country Music Festival, with album bass player Beau Baker on board. The album was also recorded at Damien Gerard Studios in Balmain, with engineer/producer Russell Pilling. “City of Light isn’t country at all, but more a mish-mash of a variety of roots-based styles... Slide guitar-driven blues tunes, folk-ish saunters, rock ‘n’ roll thumpers, it’s all there…”
