Nina Persson, Iconic Songstress from The Cardigans and A Camp, Signs With The End Records For New Solo Album

'ANIMAL HEART' TO BE RELEASED FEBRUARY 11th 2014

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New York, NY (December 20, 2013) - The End Records are proud to announce their recent signing of iconic songstress and lyricist Nina Persson, known world round as the singer from The Cardigans and for her project A Camp, for the North American release her new solo album due February 11, 2014.

An innovative video for title track 'Animal Heart' has been released, premiered via Stereogum, which follows Nina around a seemingly 'normal day', Stereogum explains below.
"The video follows Persson as she goes through a seemingly “normal” day, but as if on a film set; while she descends the steps of a Brooklyn-esque brownstone and fetches milk from the nearby market, “crew” members undress and redress her, a dance posse trails behind, and people carry backdrops to match the scenes in her lyrics. In her familiar pop soprano she cries “come be my man, babe hang on to me” over a twinkling synth." - Stereogum
Nina Persson came to fame with Swedish pop group The Cardigans, known world wide for such hits as 'Lovefool' - the group's first international hit single which topped the #1 Billboard Hot 100 Airplay and #1 Billboard Top 40 Mainstream charts, selling an excess of 2.5 million with overall album sales for the group exceeding 15 million world wide.
She has worked as a solo artist, releasing two albums as A Camp, has appeared on the tribute album to Serge Gainsbourg, worked with Manic Street Preachers (Send Away The Tigers) as well as rock group Sparklehorse's collaboration with Danger Mouse (Dark Night of the Soul) and is a member of The Cake Sale Collective.
Through her career Nina has shared the stage with Tom Jones for a unique rendition of 'Burning Down The House' and performed 'Whole Lotta Love' at Led Zeppelin's tribute show for the 2006 'Polar Music Prize'. She has enjoyed the spotlight with features in zines such as Pitchfork, The Guardian, Stereogum, The Independent, Time Out London, The New York Times, Billboard and many more.  Recently Nina has completed a reunion tour with The Cardigans and is looking forward to scheduling a US tour in support of her new album in 2014.
