Fulks,
selected for Best Folk Album and Best American Roots Song categories,
is the first Bloodshot artist to be nominated
The nominees for the 59th
Grammy Awards were announced this morning and Bloodshot Records artist Robbie Fulks has been nominated for
two Awards in the categories of Best American Roots Song for “Alabama
At Night” and Best Folk Album for Upland
Stories. These are the first nominations for Fulks, and
first for an artist on the record label.
Both nominations are for music of Fulks’s latest album Upland Stories,
which received critical acclaim from a varied and widespread list of
publications, including Rolling Stone Country (“With his new
album Upland
Stories, Robbie Fulks furthers his reputation as one of the
most observant and wry songwriters of the past two decades”), NPR Fresh
Air, NPR Music, New Yorker, Guardian UK, Noisey, FADER, Acoustic Guitar
Magazine and many more.
The Grammy Awards will air live on Sunday, February 12.
