I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Rev. Peyton's Big Damn Band releases new video for "One More Thing"

REVEREND PEYTON’S BIG DAMN BAND RELEASES
NEW VIDEO FOR “ONE MORE THING”
New CD Front Porch Sessions debuts at #1 on the iTunes Blues charts
and at #2 on the Billboard Blues charts, just behind the Rolling Stones.

BROWN COUNTY, Ind. — “One More Thing” is the latest video from Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band’s new Thirty Tigers release Front Porch Sessions. The Reverend speaks for the working class in this haunting, politically aware song about living paycheck to paycheck. He shows a new depth in his songwriting and a social consciousness in the tradition of Guthrie, Springsteen and Mellencamp.
The Reverend recently explained, “The song isn't a response to any one thing. It’s just words I’ve had to live from time to time in my life. Words a lot of my neighbors are living right now. A lot of Americans are suffering."
The video was shot on the front porch at Reverend Peyton’s home in Brown County, Indiana and the videography production and editing was done by Tyler Zoller.

Front Porch Sessions was released March 10 and debuted at #1 on the iTunes Blues chart displacing the Rolling Stones from top spot. The following week it debuted at #2 on the Billboard Blues charts (the Rolling Stones charted #1.)

Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band releases new video, "We Deserve a Happy Ending"

REVEREND PEYTON’S BIG DAMN BAND
RELEASES NEW VIDEO
FOR “WE DESERVE A HAPPY ENDING”
Fresh off of viral shotgun guitar video that reached 20 million plus,
Rev. Peyton literally sets his best friend on fire in new music video.

BROWN COUNTY, Ind. — Rev. Peyton, known for his viral shotgun guitar video and virtuosic slide guitar, is back! This time Rev literally sets his best friend on fire, and all hell breaks loose behind Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band as they perform “We Deserve a Happy Ending” on their own front porch in the new video from the upcoming March 10, 2017 album release Front Porch Sessions
"We researched these dangerous Hollywood-style stunts and my best friend, Jim Connor, volunteered to let me set him on fire inside my house,” says Rev. Peyton. All of these people, animals, and machinery were all packed inside of Rev. and Breezy’s tiny cabin in the Brown County Hills. “These folks are just our friends and family,” Rev. Peyton says. “We are lucky to be surrounded by hillbillies, performers, artists, daredevils, and adventurers.” With almost no budget, this video is one continuous camera shot and was captured by Rev’s good pal and photographer Tyler Zoller in one take. It’s all DIY, but all the proper precautions were taken. Rev. urges people not to try this at home, especially if you live in a wood house.
Washboard Breezy, Rev. Peyton’s wife and band member, says, “The song is stripped down, Maxwell Senteney plays a suitcase just like on the record, but it sounds huge.” “It’s all about the vocals,” Rev. Peyton adds. “Max and Breezy make the song for me.”
From livestock to Harley motorcycles, from live shootouts to a man fully engulfed in flames, this video has it all!

Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band is:
Rev. Peyton - guitar, vocals
Washboard Breezy Peyton - washboard, tambourine, snaps, claps and vocals
Maxwell Senteney - percussion, suitcases, buckets and vocals
Produced and directed by Rev. Peyton

Reverend Peyton's 'The Front Porch Sessions' coming March 10 from Thirty Tigers

REVEREND PEYTON SHOWCASES SONGS FROM THE PORCH
Charismatic roots preacher breaks it down on career-defining
The Front Porch Sessions, slated for March 10, 2017 release

BROWN COUNTY, Ind. — Southern Indiana-bred singer-guitarist Reverend Peyton is the bigger-than-life frontman of Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band. He has earned a reputation as both a singularly compelling performer and a persuasive evangelist for the rootsy country blues styles that captured his imagination early in life and inspired him and his band to make pilgrimages to Clarksdale, Mississippi to study under such blues masters as T-Model Ford, Robert Belfour and David “Honeyboy” Edwards.

That passionate inspiration has made Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band America’s foremost country blues outfit and fuels the Rev’s new release, The Front Porch Sessions. Peyton’s dazzling guitar mastery is equaled here by his knack for vivid, emotionally impactful songwriting, and his originals are matched in their authenticity by the deeply felt vintage blues tunes that he covers. The album showcases the Rev’s irrepressible personality while echoing the enduring spirit of such acoustic blues icons as Charlie Patton, Blind Willie Johnson, Bukka White and Furry Lewis, whose “When My Baby Left Me” receives a memorable reading.

The Front Porch Sessions
will be released March 10, 2017 on Family Owned Records/Thirty Tigers.

The Front Porch Sessions
maintains a potent level of intensity throughout, from the upbeat optimism of the album-opener “We Deserve a Happy Ending” to the blunt slice-of-life rural reality of “One More Thing” to the rollicking, playful swagger of “Shakey Shirley,” “One Bad Shoe” and “Cornbread and Butterbeans.” Meanwhile, the instrumentals “It’s All Night Long” and “Flying Squirrels” demonstrate the Rev’s nimble, imaginative guitar work.

That lifelong pursuit of musical authenticity was instilled in his musical consciousness while Peyton was growing up in rural Indiana, where his early love for blues, ragtime, folk, country and other traditional styles gave him a sense of direction that would soon manifest itself in his own music. He and the Big Damn Band won a large and loyal fan base, thanks to their tireless touring efforts and high-energy showmanship, along with such acclaimed albums as Big Damn NationThe Gospel AlbumThe Whole Fam DamnilyThe WagesBetween the DitchesSo Delicious and the Charlie Patton tribute disc Peyton on Patton.

Despite his prior achievements, the Rev views The Front Porch Sessions as a personal creative milestone.  “I really think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done,” he asserts. “I’m interested in making hand-made American music, and the goal is to be timeless.”
