I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Heavy Manic Souls - New Release review
I just received and had the opportunity to listen to the new self titled recording by Heavy Manic Souls. This is a blues fusion recording having not only the components of the blues but also rock, punk and soul... yea...you can hear a little fast guitar riffs, Fishbone rhythms and Chili Peppers bottom. But this is all original stuff. I believe that they wrote 10 of the 11 tracks on the recording. Now back to yeah...some of it is straight up blues. My favorites are tracks 8, Down in The Rain, a somber guitar blues with a light touch of jazz and track 10, Uncle Pirate Blues which is real gritty. If you want something with a little more contemporary sound but not losing touch with the solid blues... this may be your ticket.
Enjoy!
