I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Missing Man's Best Friend!

Today I'm doing a special little tribute to my 8 year companion and friend Wood, who breathed his last breath around 1:30AM Saturday morning. Little Wood has been my friend and companion for 8 years and has lived a great life. He would always want to go where ever I would go, would move from where ever in the house he may be to the room with me when I would play blues music or even when I would fire up ear shattering levels on my Fender Twin or Hiwatt 100. Wood was a man's dog. He was the most gentle dog that you could imagine at 78 lbs. Unfortunately a few months ago Wood started to become particularly finicky about the food he was eating and started to lose weight. After numerous trips to the Dr. it was determined that he may need to get ultrasound. His thorax was filling with Lymphatic fluid for no known reason. Over the past 4 months or so I have been feeding him low fat diets (to slow the production of Lymph) giving him various experimental minerals and medical treatments to no avail. Weekly trips to the emergency room became routine, Wood being very hungry and perky early in the week, and slowly becoming lethargic as the weekend would approach. The only known treatment for this condition aside from the earlier chemical treatments (ultra sound, cat scan and xrays numerous times aside) was to open his chest end to end and remove a lymph duct as well as any abnormalities. Unfortunately nothing abnormal was found. Two days after the surgery, Wood was perky and prancing around the house again. Unfortunately after only two days it was determined that the surgery was unsuccessful and the Dr thought that a temporary chest tube for removal of the excess fluid was a last ditch effort. We diligently drained his chest hourly to keep him "dry" in efforts to cure him. Unfortunately, he became dehydrated after only two days and I rushed him to the emergency room on Friday night. His heart beat was irregular and his blood pressure was extremely low. Emergency fluids stabilized him but it was more than his heart would bear and he breathed his last breath only a few hours later. I can't blame Wood for all of my typos but his face on the keyboard while I write my blog is a sorely missed event. If you would like to pay tribute to my pal Wood, please feel free to post your favorite video on my page.

Miss you Little Wood
