I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

R. Crumb: The Complete Record Cover Collection
I got a really cool book for Christmas. Like most people I like looking at cool pictures and this book is packed full of interesting drawings (primarily)for record covers by R. Crumb. A lot of these images are suggestive and orient around street and drug culture. Probably the most famous of all of the images shown is the famous cover for Big Brother and the Holding Company's Cheap Thrills".
Another cover probably familiar to most blues fans would be the "Harmonica Blues" cover featuring Jazz Gillum, Jaybird Coleman and DeFord Bailey. The book also has numerous sketches of famous artists by Crumb.
There is also a great graphic of BB King artwork for silkscreen which is unpublished. There is even a 2011 cover that I blogged earlier this year in the book. It is the recording called Be Kind To a Man When He's Down by Eden and John East River String Band.
These drawings are great eye candy and I think that anyone interested in music graphics would find this book terrific.
Enjoy!!
