I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Slow Blues Jam - Scott Mckeon
Scott McKeon may be just twenty three but he has already given a lifetime of dedication to his craft as a guitarist, singer and songwriter. Initially inspired by his dad's love of blues and fifties rock n roll music he took up the guitar at the age of four. In 1998, Scott was the winner of Guitarist Magazine's "Young Guitarist of the Year" and by the age of fourteen, he was already fronting his own band.
At 18, a CD was passed onto Paul Crockford, Mark Knopfler's manager, who started representing Scott which culminated in the release of his debut album "Can't Take No More" an energetic and raw take on modern electric blues. To promote the album Scott toured extensively in the UK, Europe and US, sharing performance space with Eric Clapton at Hyde Park Calling in 2008, Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter and Joe Bonamassa to name a few as well as playing the Montreal Jazz festival and making US TV appearances.
In the past two years, Scott has continued writing, touring and producing his own music as well as that of other artists such as The Bizets and James Parker. He wrote music for Robert Knight's "Rock Prophecies" Documentary which won him a RIIFF award for "Best Soundtrack". The makers of Guitar Hero Five also sought him out in order to have a track on their game as did the makers of the TV show LA Task Force.
During 2009 Scott spent time writing in Nashville which included working with up and coming artist Tyler Bryant. He was also lucky enough to open for some of his greatest musical heroes this past year, including Derek Trucks and the Arc Angels and made his first performance at the Royal Albert Hall supporting Joe Bonamassa.
Scott is a raw and naturally gifted guitarist who has come into his own as a singer/songwriter. His work producing other artists inspired him to take the lead in producing his new record. Scott’s second album, Trouble , will be released in March 29th 2010 on Mascot Provogue Records and contains 12 new songs, including contributions form Robbie McIntosh and David Ryan Harris from John Mayer’s band. Of the album, McKeon says, “With Trouble, I wanted to be able to incorporate bluesy guitar soloing into a more soulful rock environment. I also wanted to be more disciplined with the songs to move them from a riff-based style into proper songs. I feel this album is more balanced but still allows me the chance to cut loose.”

Blues Jam - Scott McKeon
It's hard to judge a band based upon one listen but if this is a good example of Scotts work...WOW!!
At just 23-years-of-age, this young talent from the small coastal town of Wimbourne, is rapidly gaining critical acclaim as one of the most gifted and naturally talented guitarist/singer-songwriters on the UK rock/blues scene. Scott McKeon has the ability of fusing generations of blues, with classic electric-guitar rock, to create a sound that’s distinctly contemporary. ‘Trouble’, is a gobsmacking collection of ten originally penned tracks, all of which demonstrate McKeon’s engaging soulful vocals embedded within powerful, dominant rocky guitar riffs akin to the likes of the almighty Lenny Kravitz and Eric Clapton. From the enticing narrative of tracks such as, ‘I Can Tell’ and ‘Trouble’, through to the mellow smoothness of the cover, ‘Talk To Me’ and raw raunchy vibe of, ‘Broken Man’, plus contributions from Robbie McIntosh and David Ryan Harris from John Mayer’s Band, this album delivers all the elements of a timeless classic.
The unique Scott McKeon sound has even filtered through to mass consumer audiences including the Impulse viral ad, Guitar Hero 5 and the soundtrack for TV show LA Task Force. Added to which, McKeon’s work on the Rock Prophecies soundtrack received a Rhode Island International Film Festival ‘Best Soundtrack’ Award.
Sharing performance space with the likes of Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Joe Bonamassa, Johnny Winter and Derek Trucks to name just a few, justifies McKeon as one of the countries most promising musicians. In 2008, Scott opened for Eric Clapton, John Mayer and Sheryl Crow at the prestigious Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park, as well as opening for Joe Bonamassa at the Royal Albert Hall.
‘Trouble’, exposes the sheer unparalleled talent of this master craftsman. Blasting guitar blues into inconceivable dimensions, ‘Trouble’, is an album that is sure to take a very firm standing amongst the greatest guitar albums of all time.
The album, ‘Trouble’ is released on 5 April on Mascot Provogue Records.
