I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Every year I say I'm going to become a member of the Blues Foundation so I can vote on these awards and I never do. I contribute money but never get a membership.
ReplyDeleteNot sure who I'd vote for in some catgories anyway. In many cases there are too many qualified nominees!
Lazy Lester is one of my favorites. And when I saw Mac Arnold earlier this year he was great. Tracy Nelson & Maria Muldaur are legends but for this year Denise LaSalle would get my vote.
"Hideaway" Bridges knocks me out, but Curtis Salgado is worthy too.
From the nominated choices I'd go with Revelator - Tedeschi Trucks Band for album of the year.
And of course I'd always vote for Doug James, the best baritone sax in the blues.
Magic Slim still has some magic, but he's not too slim these days!
They're all good, really.
These are certainly some good choices. There are a buch of good people to choose from!
