I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

New Release: Atomic Roots Orchestra - Border Radio Gamble - Review
I just received and had the opportunity to review Border Radio Gamble, the new recording from The Atomic Roots Orchestra. The recording includes 14 great tracks of roots blues. I have always said that I am not capable of qualifying what kind of blues music something is...or even why it's blues. I really like this cd. It has all of the traits of an an early revival blues band. It has the T-bone style guitar, it has the horns... every song is danceable. This band is the brainchild of Job Striles (founding member of max Bangwell Band, Job Striles Band and Rob Rio and the Revolvers)on lead guitar and John Lee Williamson (The Magic Blues Band, The Southside Jukes and the Superstitions L.A. 2000) on rhythm guitar on vocals. Their backup crew is tight with Max Bangwell on drums, Rick Reed on Bass and Bill Flores on Sax.
This isn't your ordinary retro blues band and I think if you like this style even a little...you'll love this recording!
