I started a quest to find terrific blues music and incredible musicianship when I was just a little kid. I also have a tremendous appreciation of fine musical instruments and equipment. One of my greatest joys all of my life was sharing my finds with my friends. I'm now publishing my journey. I hope that you come along!

Full Set - Little Monsters

"little monsters" is more than an emerging musically talented act. Together for less than a year, they are steadily gaining access to clubs and venues throughout Southern California. Their first “live” CD is being recorded at the newly built and acoustically perfect Studio 350. Release promotions live and digital are in the works.

"little monsters" is a planned convergence of specific musical histories and backgrounds. These specific choices culminate in delivering it’s unique “monsterized” sound and style. We hope to explore everything from field holla to big band swing with our “little” touch.

Two guitars~

John January, Billboard Award winning songwriter, singer, guitar wizard, with over a dozen albums. Longtime veteran of West coast music scene. John, has received outstanding reviews of his Blues based Rock with Progressive and Alternative influences. He may be seen locally with Michele Lundeen and Blues Streak and other outstanding bands. He is the ~ guitar players ~ guitar player.

Phil Diiorio, singer, songwriter, guitar legend from coast to coast. Since 1986 a frontman for many outstanding and popular bands including “The Blues Defenders” (IBC top four) and the “Beale Street Band” A gifted vocalist with an amazing range, Phil has shared the stage with..the Nighthawks, The Climax Blues Band, Debbie Davies, Bob Margolin, Jimmie Vaughn and Fran Christina, Carmine Apice, Richie Hayward, to name a few. He has his own group, The Phil Diiorio Band, plays in The Project and is often called in as a featured guest for many bands coast to coast.

Two singers~

Annette Magee aka “Da Bomb”, a Pacific Coast phenom, a lotta Etta, a little Ella and a shot of Big Mama Thorton. What else could possibly be said...... she will take you to her church and you will believe. Ms.Magee can also be seen locally with her own band “The Project” and with the great “Stoney B. Blues Band”.and many others as a featured guest artist.

Kekey Buche, the other “voice” smooth and sultry. Hailed by, Jazz legends, Cynthia Hammond, and Jacqueline Bonaparte as the “voice to watch”, Kekey, can shift, from drop dead sexy to nasty cool street funky in the turn of a breath. Also appearing with local Grammy nominee’s Kevin Cooper and Russell Bizzitt, the gifted Frankie D. Kekey and Annette possess harmony like it is DNA deep.

Rock solid rhythm section~

Jodie Hill, Bass extraodinaire. Lush command of both electric and acoustic basses. Jodie is rhythm in spades. Funk that is bone deep and tender as a ballad might demand. With a rich confident voice her leads or backup singing is a powerful harmonic asset. Seen all over the west with the Shelly Blue Band, a member of the Phil Diiorieo Band, The Project and Poway Community College Big Band. Jodie is the leading go-to bassist for many, many artists..

Rick Lee, touring nationally and internationally, one of the founders of the “Bayou Brothers Band” When you make your own drum sticks at 10 years old to learn to play and start getting paid at 16 to play ~ you are percussion and you are destined for greatness. Who doesn’t he play with? One of our local treasures.

Horn ~ Harmonica~ and~

Chuck Arcilla, when they say “Chuck the Killa” “they” whom ever “they” are mean Sax. Yes, yet another ringer! Inspired back ground work and leads. Always in demand. Part of the South Bay legends, ”The Shelltown Horns”. Among his fans are Big Slim, Chet and the Committe, Michele Lundeen, Bad Neighbors, Will Street Blues band ~ in truth there are to many to mention.

Robert Cowan, Harmonica player, bandleader, founder of “little monsters”. He is not your traditional harp player. His lyrical style and approach has been displayed in New Orleans at dives like Bennie’s to landmarks like Tipitina’s and JazzFest. In Chicago, Kingston Mines to The Checkerboard where Howlin’ Wolf played. New York to Austin. His sound can be found in club recordings, on albums, in film and television scores. Robert has played with the famous and not yet famous.....Neville Brothers, Taj Mahal, The Willie Dixon Band, Albert Lee, Graham Nash, Bonnie Raitt, Willie T, Jimmie Z, Little Feat, Earl Hines, Galactic, The Farmers , Frankie D, Sara Petite, Stoney B. and many wonderful, gifted and generous others.
