Widow is just back from Memphis, where his recently-released album "Waiting For The World To End" was touted by the prestigious Blues Foundation
as a Top Five Finalist in the category of "Best Self-Produced CD." The
record has received sparkling reviews and both national (and)
international radio airplay. Other recent accolades: 2012 "Hot 100 Artist of the Year"
selection by noted trade publication, Music Connection; and "Musical
Group of the Year" nominee by the 2012 Los Angeles Music Awards.
Dave's busy
performing schedule include a recent performance at this year's NAMM
Conference. He will lend his teaching talents at this year's "Down To The Crossroads Blues Guitar And Bass Camp" in Clarksdale, Mississippi from May 28 through June 1, and is set to perform at both the 8th Annual Ventura County Blues Festival (as part of Michael John and the Bottom Line's band) on April 27; and as a headliner at the 16th Annual Irvine Lake Blues Festival on August 24 (complete itinerary below).

What The Media Has Been Saying About "Waiting For the World To End"
"Fourteen fantastic songs that will keep you grooving song after song. And don't forget about the great axe work by Dave!"
"Backed by seasoned
cats with credits (Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison) and armed with an able
voice and a brittle guitar tone, Dave Widow lives to rock the
blues...the key to Widow's appeal is he understands the blues is not
about being down, it's about surviving and living life. A calling card
for well-deserved live gigs and perhaps a film placement."
"If
you're a Blues lover and dig the same things I dig, you are gonna LOVE
Dave Widow's new CD "Waiting For The World To End." The lineup (no pun
intended) on this CD is truly incredible."
"One
of the finest blues discs I've heard all year...his vocals are
prominent all over the album, such as on opening cut "Bluesman" as well
as the dazzling "Reach Out." He can also groove to the first degree, as
he shows on "Leave A Piece Of Me" and "Second Hand Love." Well worth
checking out!"
"On
Waiting For The World To End Dave Widow sings and plays a vibrant
guitar, while his band provides plenty of rhythm...comfortable blues
with a message that we can all appreciate."
"Dave Widow has assembled a great
band including Reggie McBride, Gary Mallaber, Mike Finnegan, Bill
Champlin, Barry Goldberg and a crew of outstanding horns and vocalists
and they demonstrate their broad background on this stellar part CD...a
very entertaining recording."
"Waiting For The World To End is a great,
fun album to listen to over and over again. If you love blues; if you
love R&B; if you love great, original music, this is a must-have
CD."
"Dave Widow is a
blues playing singer and songwriter who smokes on the electric
guitar...an outstanding collection of blues songs, demonstrating
first-rate production and musicianship."
"Widow melds Americana, blues, funk, R&B, and soul to forge
his signature sound...Critic's Choice goes to "Piss You Off" with its
great hooks, blues guitar solo and powerful horns."
