Guy Davis…is a terrific Piedmont blues
picker, Davis never loses sight of the blues as good time music, the original
forum for dancing on top of one's sorrows." -- Dave
Marsh

Dayna Kurtz To Perform on WNKU'S Studio 89 Monday Oct.

Northport N.Y. - Dayna Kurtz is back from her European tour that took her
to Madrid, Amsterdam and London. She is supporting her June release
Secret Canon Vol. 2. Dayna will be doing a special
show at the A3 station, WNKU in Cincinnati. Click on the photo for more details.
Since the release of
Secret Canon Vol.
2 on
June 4, Dayna has done a bunch of great interviews. Here's a
sampling:
1. Dayna Kurtz on WBGO with host
Michael Bourne recorded earlier this month:
2. Earlier in the year Dayna
was recorded at Chickie Wah Wah in New Orleans for the syndicated radio program
"New Orleans All The Way The Live." The show is an intimate
look at Dayna and her music hosted by George Ingmire of
WWOZ.
A singer of profound
emotional resonance and physical strength, Kurtz is her usual chameleonic self
here, seamlessly weaving from the blues to jazz to country soul.

Dayna
Kurtz's Secret Canon, Vol. 2 is a collection of uncovered blues and
R&B gems from the 1940's-1960's. Dayna researched music for this project for
months to come up with just the right material. In addition, Secret
Canon, Vol. 2 contains a few of Dayna's smoky and seductive
originals. The sessions for the recording took place in New York as well as
Danya's new home in New Orleans.
